John Henry Cockerham

John Cockerham, 72, of School Street in Lexington, died Tuesday March 6, 2018 at his home.   A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. James Messer officiating services.   Burial will follow at the Lexington City Cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.   Mr. Cockerham was born August 9, 1945 in Surry County to Dick Nunn Cockerham and Minnie Lucy Roberts Cockerham. He was retired from Dixie Funerniture and was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Carl Cockerham, a daughter, Teresa Cockerham; three brother, Don Cockerham, Jim Cockerham and Rex Cockerham; and two sisters, Linda Hege and Betty Jones   Surviving is his wife Patricia Bell Lawson Cockerham, of the home; three sons, John Cockerham  (Debbie) of Lexington, Jimmy Cockerham (Melinda) of Archdale and Ronald Cockerham(Jackie) of Lexington; two daughters, Jennie Copeland(Brad), and Jane Fortenberry(Chris) both of Lexington; three brothers, Jack Cockerham of  Thomasville, Robert Cockerham (Jane) of Sanford,  and Willie Cockerham (Pam) of Reidsville; and one sister Margaret Hage (significant of Channel); 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.   Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County 200 Hospice Way Lexington NC 27292.
