John Conrad Cook, age 89 of Ernest Cook Road, Lexington passed away Wednesday morning, November 21, 2018 at The North Carolina State Veterans Home in Salisbury.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Monday November 26, 2018 at Higher Ground Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park with military honors by NC National Guard and Davidson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the church from noon until 1:00 PM.
John was born in Davidson County October 6, 1929 to Charles Ernest Cook and Winnie Conrad Cook. He was a former employee of Mid-State Tile and a veteran of the US Army having served his country in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Golda Nance Cook in 2010; step-daughters, Cynthia Hill and Debra Rich and son in law, Gabby Berrier; sisters, Lola Money, Mary Bailey, Dora Parks and Nell Musgrave; brothers, Ernest Cook, Charles Cook and Robert Cook.
Surviving are his son, John Mark Cook (Polly) of Lexington; daughter, Glenda Cook Johnson (Rick) of Lexington; step son, Jody Austin Holloman (Traci) of China Grove; step daughter, Brenda Berrier of Lexington; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
