John Crabtree

John Ray Crabtree, 68, a resident of Lexington, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Hinkle Hospice House. John was born on April 29, 1953 to the late Edward and Peggy Holden Crabtree in Orange County. He worked as a residential and commercial painter for many years, and was exceptionally skilled at his craft. John loved cooking for his family, hosting family gatherings, and fishing. He will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tara McGael; and brothers, Wayne and Mark Crabtree.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. There will not be a formal visitation.

John is survived by his children, Edward Crabtree (Christina) of Little Elm, TX, Joseph Picotte (Ashleigh) of Burlington, and Hanna Wagner (Eric) of Lexington; brothers, Morris Crabtree (Sherry) of Pittsboro, David Crabtree (Linda) of Durham, and Ricky Crabtree (Rhonda) of Mebane; sisters, Iris Tilley (Bert) of Hurdle Mills, NC; grandchildren, Rylen Wagner, Sadie Picotte, Casey, Owen, Alyssa, and Tabitha Crabtree; best friend, Eddie Terrell of Mebane; and numerous nieces and nephews.
