Mr. John Emil DeRemer, 83, of Waywood Drive, died Sunday, May 03, 2015 at Lexington Health Care.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday (May 7, 2015) in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel by the Rev. Jack Nance officiating. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday evening at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Mr. DeRemer was born March 12, 1932 in Asbury, New Jersey to John Walter DeRemer and Helen Newhouse DeRemer. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He retired from the City of Lexington and was a member of Community Fellowship Moravian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Hann DeRemer of the home; his sons, John E. DeRemer, Jr. and Frank DeRemer, both of Lexington; his daughters, Sherri Legg and husband, David, Linda Smith and husband, John, Joanne Starr and husband, John, and Christie Cline and husband, Rico, all of Lexington, Cheryl Michel of Thomasville, Bonnie Sutton and husband, Randy, of Graham and Michelle Parnell and companion, Sam Carpenter, of Winston Salem; his brother Ronnie DeRemer of New Jersey; his sisters, Katherine Clouse and Rhoda DeRemer, both of New Jersey; 31 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
