John Franklin Hanes

John Franklin Hanes, 66 of Hillcrest Road, Linwood died Saturday morning in Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. John was born in Davidson County August 2, 1939 to Carl Franklin Hanes and Ruby Yarbrough Hanes. He was co-owner of Lakeview Oil Company/Hanes Service, a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church and served in the North Carolina National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Sara Kelly Hanes. Surviving are his wife Jeanne Waddell Hanes of the home; son Michael B. Hanes and wife Sonya of Linwood. Grandsons Nathan Daniel and Logan Hanes; a brother David E. Hanes wife Loretta of Linwood; a sister Carol Rabon husband Bob of Kure Beach, NC. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 PM Tuesday (04-11-2006) at Smith Grove Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by Pastor Terry Smith. Burial will follow in the Smith Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at Davidson Funeral Home, LExington Chapel and at other times at the home.
