John Roy Hilliard

John Roy Hilliard, age 66 of Mill Street, Lexington died Friday, October 1, 2010 at his residence. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, October 4, 2010 in Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Monday, October 4, 2010, prior to the service and other times at the home. Mr. Hilliard was born October 22, 1943 in Chatham County to Joe Guy Hilliard and Daisey Heart Hilliard. He was a supervisor with Bates Children Ware, Salisbury, NC and was a member of Wesley Heights United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Paul Hilliard, three sisters, Margaret Lowe, Elizabeth Hatley and Reba Tysinger. Surviving are his wife, Eldred Whiteside Hilliard of the home, a daughter, Debra “Dee Dee” Smith and fiancé, Ricky Alexander of Lexington, two grandchildren, Chris Smith and fiancée, Emily Widy of Lexington, KY, Tabitha Kicklighter and husband, Michael and one great grandson, Ethan Kicklighter of Killeen, Texas; a brother, William Hilliard of Lexington, a sister, Lou Watson of Florida,.
