John Amrine “Jack” Kessler passed away from this world on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 6:00 PM at Friedberg Moravian Church Graveyard followed by a visitation at 4152 Enterprise Road from 6:45 PM to 9:00 PM.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 2, 1924 to John Donavan and Verna Amrine Kessler. Preceding him in death was his wife of 63 years “Bea” Kessler, a long-time nurse at Forsyth Hospital. Known to some of his friends as “Cadillac Jack,” he served in the Merchant Marines in World War II and worked as a truck driver after moving to Winston-Salem in 1950 until 2007. He was an avid Coca-Cola collector along with model trucks and cars.
Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Kessler Craver and husband Steve; a son, John Findling Kessler and wife Carol. Along with grandchildren John Brian Kessler, Matthew Craver and wife Meghan, John Jordan Kessler and wife Allison, Julie Kessler Cooke and husband Boone and Rebecca Craver and husband Bobbie; great-grandchildren, Hannah Kessler, Baeli Kessler, John William Kessler, Carter Cooke, Daniel Kessler and Marie Cooke.
