John William “Dub” Jarrell, age 71 of Hugh Miller Road, Lexington passed away Tuesday afternoon at Lexington Medical Center after a sudden illness.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday at Psalm 91 Church with Rev. Max Shoaf officiating. Burial will follow in Psalm 91 Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday and at other times at the home.
Dub was born in Davidson County, March 17, 1941 to John Franklin Jarrell and Mary Magdalene Grubb Jarrell. He was a retired employee of Speedy Lohr’s Barbecue in Arcadia and attended Psalm 91 Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Daythen Jarrell. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.
Dub is survived by his wife of 56 years, Frances Burkhart Jarrell of the home; daughter, Lisa Lohr and husband Roger of Lexington; son, Chuck Jarrell of Lexington; three grandchildren, Kristy Lohr Bowers and husband Gary, Paul Lohr and Caroline Lohr; one great-grandson, Christopher Bowers; one sister, Vicky Cook and husband Dale of Denton; one brother, Ricky Jarrell of Trinity, NC.
