John "Jd " David Shoaf

John David (J.D.) Shoaf, 89, of Perryman Rd., Lexington passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 in Forsyth Medical Center.   A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Friendship United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Pryor officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, December 26, 2016 at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the daughter, Ann Younts on Perryman Rd.   Mr. Shoaf was born February 4, 1927 in Davidson County to Robert Hoyle Shoaf and Daisy Essick  Shoaf. He was a former employee of Lexington Memorial Hospital in the maintenance dept. and a member of Friendship United Methodist Church.  Preceding him in death was his wife, Savannah James Shoaf in 1998, and brothers and sisters.   Surviving are a son, Benny Shoaf (Barbara) of Lexington; four daughters, Kaye Odell (William), Kathy James (Donnie), Ann Younts (Wayne), Rita Lanier (Dennis) all of Lexington; 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.   Memorials may be directed to Friendship United Methodist Church, 2840 Friendship Church Rd., Lexington, NC 27295
