John “Johnny” Paul Roberson, Jr., 59, a resident of Lexington, went home to be with his Lord, Thursday, February 24, 2022. Johnny was born January 29, 1963 to John Paul, Sr. and Alice Bullock Roberson. He worked for Wilderness Lumber. On June 30, 1985 he married the love of his life, Alesia Raye Whiteside. Johnny was known for his sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He was a selfless person who had a heart as big as the ocean. Johnny was a dedicated husband, father, and “Pippop.” He enjoyed woodworking and going on adventures with his dog, Tilley, or “Tater Tot” as he called her. Tater Tot and Johnny took many day trips together. Johnny was a Godly man who loved his church family. He was a member of North Lexington Baptist Church and Community Christian Church in Williamston, NC. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Cameron Price.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM Monday, February 28, 2022 at North Lexington Baptist Church with Pastor Gavin Pratt and Mark Barnes officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 – 1:30PM.
Interment will follow in North Lexington Baptist Church Cemetery.
Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Alesia Roberson of the home; a daughter, Tiffany Roberson of Lexington; his parents, John and Alice Roberson, of Williamson; a sister, Annette Price (David) of Williamston; two grandchildren, Sophie and Lacie Rogers; nephews, Josh and Nathan Price, Brandon Long, and David and Will Whiteside; nieces, Alexis Price, Amanda Linder, and Hannah Whiteside; best friend, Mark Barnes (Julie); and fur-babies, Tilley “Tater Tot,” Stella, and Peanut Roberson.
