John Patrick Keenan Sr.

John Patrick Keenan Sr. 89 of Winston Salem passed away Friday June 2, 2023, at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living. A small graveside service will be 1 pm Friday June 9, 2023, at Faith Church of Midway

Mr. Keenan was born August 7, 1933, in Huntington, W. VA to Thomas Jefferson Keenan and Alice  Tolar Keenan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathan (JP) Keenan. Three brothers, Denver Keenan, Paul Keenan, and Orville (Beanie) Keenan and two sisters, Quindora Christian and Barbara Ann Defoe. He was a member of Faith Church of Midway. He is a veteran of The US Marine Corp. He retired from Owens Illinois after 34 years of service.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Marilyn (Peggy). Two sons, John Keenan Jr. (Sherry) and David Keenan. Two granddaughters, Brandy Keenan Larking (Terry) and Madison Keenan and 6 great grandchildren.

A special thank you to the caregivers at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living and Hospice of Davidson County for the attention given to him while under their care.
