John Wayne Leonard

John Wayne Leonard, 70, of Eastside Drive, died Sunday, June 19, 2011, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jay Belk officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at the funeral home and other times at the home. Mr. Leonard was born April 28, 1941, in Davidson County, to John Matthew Leonard and Lois Bates Leonard. He was retired from PPG and a member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church where he serves as current trustee. Surviving are his wife, Martha Parks Leonard of the home; son, Johnny Leonard and wife, Amy, of Lexington; daughters, Dena Alexander and husband, Greg, of Lexington; Mary Beth Marshall and husband, Gary, of Germanton; grandchildren, Crystal Alexander, Matthew Alexander, Samantha Leonard, Kamryn Leonard, all of Lexington, Jonathan, Alexander and Olivia Marshall all of Germanton; brother, Robert Byerly and wife, Lynn, Lexington; and sisters, Mary Ann Wallace and husband, Donald, of Lexington and Belinda Daniels and husband, Joe, of Denton.
