John Glynn Lyon

John Glynn Lyon, 75, of Sunbridge of Lexington, formerly of Highway 150, died Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Randy Foster. Internment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Lyon was born in Rowan County on February 23, 1932, to Kyle Keith Lyon and Jennie Talbert Smith. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, was a retired engineer from Lexcom Telephone Company, and a member of Tyro United Methodist Church. He was a former member with the local chapter of the Civil Air Patrol. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Keith Lyon. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Yarbrough Lyon; a son, Marty G. Lyon; a daughter, Terri Lyon Hartman and husband, Randy; and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
