John Norris

John Daniel Norris, age 55, of Lexington passed away on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 26, 2019 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with the Revs. Jimmy Garrett and Josh Sellers officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home.

Mr. Norris was born in Horry County, SC on April 1, 1964 to John Clifton Norris and Bernice Tyler Norris. He was a control operator, having worked for Martin Marietta for thirty four years and was a member of Wayside Tabernacle FWBC. John was an outdoorsman who had a passion for wildlife and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Isaac Glenn Norris.

Surviving are his loving wife of fourteen years, Tonya Osborne Norris of the home; his son, Jonathan “Dewayne” Norris (Cherylene) of Thomasville; his step-daughter, Heather Garrison (Terry Wood) of High Point; a sister, Mary Norris Vereen (Ronnie) of Thomasville; eight grandchildren, Isaac Bailey Norris, Lindsay Marie Norris, Hanna Diane Norris, Jonathan Tyler Norris, Paisley Grace Wood, Reagan McKensie Wood, Skylar Michelle Hill and Kayli McKensie Hill; one nephew, Brandon Vereen (Courtney); and two nieces, Mandy Hancock (Bradley) and Candy Lawrence (AJ).
