John Brewer “Joker” Rowe, 81, of W. Old Highway 64, died Sunday, April 11, 2010, at Lexington Health Care, following an illness of one year.
The funeral will be 2 pm. Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Max Shoaf officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Mr. Rowe was born June 18, 1928, in Davidson County, to John Leroy Rowe and Myrtle Rose Brewer Rowe. Mr. Rowe served in the National Guard and was a carpenter. He was of the Methodist faith and a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Jack Rowe and Royce Rowe.
Surviving are his wife, Opal Owens Rowe of the home; daughters, Vanessa Sink and husband, Tommy, of Lexington, and Lisa Edwards of Charlotte; sons, Jeff Rowe and wife, Joanne, of Charlotte, and Kent Rowe of Richmond, Va.; two grandchildren, Scott Sink and wife, Julie and Stephanie Rowe; and two great-grandchildren, Trad Sink and Hali Sink.
