John Wayne Swing

John Wayne Swing, age 65 of Koontz Rd., Lexington died Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at his home after an extended illness. A graveside service will be at 2:00 pm Friday, September 4, 2009 at Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Robinson officiating. Mr. Swing was born November 21, 1943 in Davidson county to Joe Hazel Swing and Sadie Elizabeth Lanning Swing. A retired employee of Morton Builders, he was of the Baptist faith. Preceding him in death was a brother, C.W. Swing and two sisters, Frances McBride and Margaret Everhart. Surviving are two daughters, Jackie Vinson and husband, Ricky, Tammy Athey all of Georgia, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three brothers, Don Swing and wife Joyce, Bobby Swing and wife, Kay, Butch Swing and wife, Joyce all of Lexington, and two sisters Ruth Beck of Lexington and Hilda Meadows of Virginia; and Companion, Peggy Brooks. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 pm Friday just prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church, 214 Andrew Sink Rd., Lexington, NC 27292
