John Dee Young

John Dee Young, age 80 of Cannon Street, Rockwell passed away Sunday morning, April 23, 2017 at Glenn Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.  Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, April 27, 2017 in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Rev. Billy Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 12:30 until 1:30 pm Thursday, prior to the service.  John was born in Johnston County, NC April 2, 1937 to Delmar Dee Young and Norma Raynor Young. He was a retired employee of United Furniture. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Zolean McLamb and Ellen Smoak.  Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Brenda Chambers Young of the home; daughters, Elaine Burgess (David) of Salisbury, Angie Crawford (Blaine) of Dallastown, PA.; 2 grandchildren, Tawny Pressley (Jordan) of Lexington, Dakota Richardson (Katie) of Dallastown, PA.; 2 great-grandchildren, Ahalyssa and Adalynn Pressley; sisters, Betty Jean Atkinson (Joe) of Garner, Ann Yokeley (Ray) of Raleigh and Norma Lean Stephenson (Rayford) of Benson.  Memorials may be made to Glenn Kiser Hospice House, 1229 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury, NC  28144
