Johnnie Leonard

Jonathan Lawrence Leonard, 59, of Lexington, passed away at home on Sunday, October 13, 2024.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 21, at Hedrick's Grove UCC Cemetery at 11:00 am officiated by Pastor William Sowers. The family will greet friends at Davidson Funeral Home - Lexington from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, October 20.

Johnnie was born on March 20, 1965, in Burke County, North Carolina, to Fred Max Leonard and Linda Christine Costner Leonard. He was a member of Hedrick's Grove Reformed United Church of Christ, the Lexington Shrine Club and Lexington Memorial Lodge 473.  Johnnie served in the Lexington Police Department, NCDMV, and as a 1st Sergeant for the NC Highway Patrol.

He is survived by his brothers, Ira Max Leonard (Jennifer) and Phillip Leonard (Patricia) and his dog, Pepper. Memorials may be made in Jonathan's memory to the American Children's Home 3844 NC-8 Lexington, NC 27292.
