Johnny Eugene Helms

Johnny Eugene Helms, age 69, of Lexington, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, in Davidson County. Johnny proudly served his country in the Army. He was born September 21, 1954 and raised by Billy Ray and Mary Lucille Yates Burleson, who preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Rita James Helms; daughters Amanda Hedrick and husband Derek, and Summer Garrison and husband Dustin; brothers Larry Chrzanowski and wife Micki, and Jimmy Vanhoy and wife Phyllis; sisters Carolyn Livengood and husband Benny, and Colleen Boysworth; as well as his four grandchildren: Willow, Lilly, Raelynn, and Waverly.

A service to honor his memory will be held Monday, March 11 at 12 noon at East End Baptist Church in Lexington.  Interment will be at Brookhill Memorial Garden in Rockwell.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at 11:00.  Johnny will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and the love he shared with those around him.

Johnny’s passion was mortgage reduction at his church.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Johnny’s honor to East End Baptist Church mortgage reduction.
