Johnny Patterson Rodden

Johnny Patterson Rodden, age 94 of West Old Highway 64, Lexington passed away Saturday

Morning March 9, 2019 at Alston Brook.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Reeds United Methodist Church with Rev. Barry Queen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors by Davidson County Honor Guard and NC National Guard. The family will see friends from 10 until 11 am prior to the service at the church and at other times at his home.

Johnny was born in Davidson County, January 25, 1925 to Milford Patterson Rodden and Etta Frances Everhart Rodden. He was a retired salesman with United Medical.  He was a member of Reeds United Methodist Church, a former Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent and served in many other capacities. He was a veteran of the US Army and was preceded in death by his parents; wife Jean Sink Rodden, sisters, Willie Lamm and Alva Rodden and a brother, Holbert Rodden.

Surviving are his daughters, Lynne Freeman and husband Jimmy and Cindy Smith all of Lexington; son, Gary Rodden and wife Karen of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Amanda Dunaway (Ryan), Kim Lohr (Jay), Neal Smith (Kristin) and Adam Smith (Keri); 7 great-grandchildren.
