Jonathan Alcon Frank, at age 40, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024. He was born May 29, 1984 in High Point, NC to Robert Frank and Kimberly (Kim) Alcon Frank.
Jonathan was married to the love of his life, Amanda Louise Frank, and was hopelessly devoted to their daughter, Nora Mae. His favorite thing in life was being with Amanda and Nora. Banjo, his grateful rescue pup, and Layla, his newest puppy love, rounded out his beautiful family. He enjoyed tending to his yard, all things Christmas, and jaunts to Florida to visit his sister-in-law’s family. He was an avid fan of UNC Chapel Hill and the Washington Redskins (the name change to Commanders was never accepted). Jonathan said “I’ve known pain and despair, I’m a Redskins fan”.
Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church was Jonathan’s church home in childhood where he professed his faith and was baptized on August 7, 1994 and continued attend into early adulthood. He went to Alaska on a Baptist Men’s construction trip with his Papaw, brother and Uncle Bubba, as well as Wyoming. He most recently enjoyed being a member of the congregation of Friedberg Moravian Church, attending Amanda’s lifelong church home with his family and continued serving through mission trips and service days.
Jonathan graduated from East Davidson High School and UNC-Charlotte with a degree in Accounting. He spent his career in credit roles at Truist (formerly BB&T) where he was blessed with many friends.
Preceding Jonathan to his eternal home, was his loyal and much-loved canine companion, Sonny Jurgensen Frank. His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Frank (Essie Mae) and Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Alcon (Billie Ann) also preceded him.
Left to find solace in their memories are his wife, Amanda, and daughter, Nora Mae; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Frank (Kim); his brother, Benjamin (Benji) Frank and wife, Erin; his parents-in-law, Tanya Kimel and Alan Burcham; his sister-in-law, Ali McKeever and husband, Michael; and nieces and nephews, Grayson, Larkin, and Colton Frank and Lilyann and Jocelyn McKeever; and many special aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.
A celebration of Jonathan’s life will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Friedberg Moravian Church at 4:00 led by Rev. Jim Newsome, Rev. Dan Nelson and Jennifer Boles. Visitation for those who have not had an opportunity to express their condolences to the family will be in the church parlor prior to the services, starting at 3:00. An Interment will follow in God’s Acre.
Jonathan continued his Papaw’s legacy by donating gallons of blood to the American Red Cross (https://www.redcrossblood.org). Please consider donating blood in memory of Jonathan. Memorials may be directed to:
