Joretta Swicegood Davis

April 15, 1936 — September 5, 2020

Joretta Maie Swicegood Davis age 84 of Winston Salem went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday September 5, 2020 at her home. A funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday September 9, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Welcome where she was a member conducted by Revs. Jonathan Goodman and Mark Blair with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be     1-2 pm prior to the service at the church. The family will be at the home at other times.

Joretta was born April 15, 1936 in Davidson County to Willie Bane Swicegood and Ella Maie Walser Swicegood. She was a retired teacher with Midway Day Care. She served in many capacities and was an active member at her church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers  I.V. , Arlie, Paul and Vilas Swicegood and sisters, Eula Weaver,Louise Lanning, Dot Koonts and Naomi Leonard.

Surviving are her loving husband of 66 years, Bobby Franklin Davis of the home. Her sons, Tony Franklin Davis (Cindy) of Winston salem and Craig Jonathan Davis (Angie) of Lexington. Grandchildren: Christina Moss (Lance), Chad Davis (Kelly), Evan Davis (Erica) and Carson Davis. Two Great Grandchildren, Kelsey and Anna Moss.  Also surviving is her sister, Geraldine Ketner of Lexington.
