Joretta Lankford

Joretta Gathings Lankford, age 45 of Lexington passed away Thursday (Nov. 5, 2009) at Hinkle Hospice Home. Celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday (Nov. 15, 2009) at AMVETS Memorial Park, Inc, Marco Blvd, Lexington. Joretta was born in Forsyth County, December 1, 1963 to James Eugene Gathings and Joan Carol Lopp Gathings. She was a former employee of the The Dispatch, with Paper Delivery. She was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her mother Joan Lopp Gathings Freedle and a step brother, Duane Mode. Surviving are: one daughter, Holly Renee Gibson of Taylorsville; one son, Ricky Lee Gibson, II of Taylorsville; one granddaughter, Clara Grace Lookadoo of Taylorsville; her father, James Eugene Gathings and wife Jeannie of Lexington; two brothers, Tony Eugene Gathings and Travis Dale Gathings Hinson both of Lexington; Step father, Coston Freedle, Jr. and wife Nelva of Lexington; three step sisters, Kristi Rogers of Williamston, NC, Kathe Lewis of Greenville, NC, and Stephanie Berry of Roper, NC; two step brothers, David Mode of Lexington and Patrick Harrison of Washington, NC; two nephews. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday (Nov. 15, 2009) and at other times at the home of James and Jeannie Gathings, 2425 West Old Highway 64, Lexington.
