Joretta Lovell Trantham

May 22, 1931 — March 19, 2014

Joretta Lovell Trantham, 82, of Hugh Miller Road, died suddenly March 19, 2014, at Wake Forest Baptist – Lexington Medical Center.  The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Maranatha Baptist Church, with the Rev. Thomas Todd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service and other times at the home.  Mrs. Trantham was born May 22, 1931, in Davidson County, to Melvin Lovell and Georgia Little Lovell. She was a member of Spruce Street Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lee Trantham, who died August 15, 2006; brother, Bobby Lovell; and sisters, Peggy Irvin, Becky Bowers, and Betty Sue Lovell.  Surviving are her sons, Mike Trantham and wife Tonya and Kelly Trantham, all of Lexington; daughters, Tammie Wright and husband Craig, Cathy Trantham, all of Lexington, and Erica Trantham of the home; grandchildren, Jason Wright and wife Jennifer, Chris Wright and girlfriend Jennifer Ferguson, Strader Surratt, Ashley Hedrick and husband Lindsay, Stephanie Varner and husband Josh, Brandi Lubarsky and husband Jay, Josh Trantham and wife Brooke; great-grandchildren, Alysa Wright, Hunter Wright, Ryan Hedrick, Alan Hedrick, Owen Hedrick, Xander Varner, Brooklin Conrad, Bayleigh Trantham, Dakota Trantham, Harley Trantham, Ian Asbury, Kaylee Lubarsky, Allyson Lubarsky, Abbey Planker; and sister, Brenda Hege of Lexington.  Memorials may be made to Davidson County Special Olympics, P.O. Box 1067, Lexington, NC 27293.
