Jorge Mendez Sr.

Jorge Mendez Sr., age 60 of Lexington, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Rowan Regional Hospital in Salisbury.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 9, 2021 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Victor Mascorro . The service will be streamed at www.facebook.com/davidson.funeralhome .  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will see friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Jorge was born November 11, 1960 in Nayarit, Mexico to Hilario Mendez and Consuelo Rubio. He was a custodian with ACI and a member of The Light of The World Church. Jorge was a coin collector, loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren, but most of all he was a mentor. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Maria Simona Mendez, of the home; sons, Jorge Mendez Jr, Nicolas Mendez, Heriberto Mendez, Hugo Mendez; Daughters, Elizabeth Mendez and Nereida Mendez; brothers, Mario Mendez, Antonio Mendez, Hilario Mendez, Auner Mendez; sisters, Rocio Mendez, alma Rose Mendez, Amparo Mendez, Ermelinda Mendez, Esperanza Mendez, Blanca Mendez; grandsons, Jacob Mendez, Moses Mendez, Abel Mendez, Gabriel Mendez, Andres Amaya, Nisi Jire Cardenas, Adriel Amaya, Atlai  Mendez, Jordan Cardenas, Joyasim Mendez; granddaughters, Lea Amaya, Miriam Mendez, Elienai Amaya, Esmerai Mendez, Sefer Mendez, Nuara Mendez, Naharai Cardenas, Tirza Mendez and one great grandson, Kay Mendez.
