Joseph Smith

Joseph Smith, 20, of Helmstetler Road, died Monday, April 27, 2009, at his home. The funeral will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, where he was a member, by Brother Ronnie Rummage and Pastor Alvin Pope. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Joseph was born in Davidson County to Larry Van Smith and Libby Hardy Smith. He graduated from Stoner-Thomas School and was preceded in death by a brother, Nicholas Smith. Surviving are his parents of the home; one brother, Joey Van Smith of Lexington; a sister, Vanessa Smith Garrett and her husband, Jason, of Lexington; and his grandfather, Dallas Hardy of Goldston. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Mt.
