Joseph Luther Waitman

Joseph “Chip” Luther Waitman, 74, of Lexington, passed away Saturday January 14, 2023 at his home.

A memorial service will be held 6:00 pm Thursday January 19, 2023 at the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Ryan Mendenhall conducting services.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm prior to the service Thursday at the Davidson Funeral Home.

Mr. Waitman was born May 12, 1948 in Davidson County to Joe Obediah Waitman and Lila Lee Winecoff Waitman. Chip served in the United States Army and served on the Davidson County Sheriff Department. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing , golfing and he loved animals. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are one son, Justin Waitman (Codi) of Jacksonville North Carolina; one daughter, Julie Quinealty (William) of Gaston South Carolina; two brothers, Edgar Waitman (Brenda) of Lexington and Bruce Waitman (Olga) of Georgia; and 4 grandchildren, Brayden, Lucas, Micheal and Nicholas.
