Joseph Jesse Whitlock

Joseph Jesse Whitlock, age 84 passed away Saturday July 27, 2019 at his home. The funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday July 31, 2019  at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel conducted by Pastor Bud Powell and burial to follow at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday, and at other times at the home of his daughter.

Mr. Whitlock was born May 12, 1935 in Floyd County, Virginia to Jesse Hogan Whitlock and Mary Ellen Thomas Whitlock.  He was the retired  owner and operator of Dimarco, a screen printing company.  He attended Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.  His parents, his wife, Madalene Doris Jones Whitlock and four sisters all preceded him in death.

Surviving is a son, Joseph Jesse Whitlock Jr.  (Mary Margaret) of Tennessee; daughters, Julie Hoffpauir (Timothy) of Lexington and Shelby Manuel (Ron) of Arizona.  Also surviving are six grandchildren, Jonathan Manuel (Chasity), Joy DaCunha (Andrew), Joanna Gray (Ryan), Julia Manuel, Joshua Manuel  and Jesse Wayne Whitlock, a great grandchild, Jerzie Manuel, and four honorary grandchildren, Megan Leann Farabee, Kasey Alexis Caples, Alia Marie Caples and Jurney Manning.

Memorials may be made to Union Grove Baptist Church or  Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.
