Josephine Grant Denton

Emma Josephine Grant Denton age 87 of Grayson Creek Assisted Living formerly of Leonard Berrier Road, Lexington passed away Friday November 10, 2017.   A funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday November 14, 2017 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Bobby Vaughn and burial to follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 am prior to the service.   Josephine was born June 20, 1930 in Swain County to Claude Grant and Nannie Dunn Grant. She was a homemaker and a member of Griffith Baptist Church. Her parents, husband, James Harlis Denton a son, David Ronald Denton and a daughter, Linda Tesh all preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Emily Grant Wilkins, Kathleen Grant Alexander and Betty Grant Pennix.   Surviving are a son Jimmy Denton (Tracy) of Winston Salem. A daughter in law, Linda Denton of Myrtle Beach SC. Her sisters, Jean Grant Land of Lexington and Rosa Cranfield (Bobby) of Winston Salem.
