Josephine Hutchens Gross

Josephine Hutchens Gross, beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, peacefully passed away on February 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 26, 1938, in Forsyth County, North Carolina, to Sidney and Lucille Hutchens.

Josephine dedicated much of her life to her career, serving as a Quality Control Specialist at RJ Reynolds until her well-deserved retirement. Her commitment to excellence and attention to detail left a lasting impact on those she worked with.

In addition to her professional achievements, Josephine was a devoted family woman. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bernie William Gross, and her son, Bernie Dean Gross. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Gross, and Janet Locklear (Les), whom she cherished deeply.

Josephine leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, which will be remembered by her siblings: Ralph Wayne Hutchens, Tony Hutchens, Judy Lewis, and Pam Watson. She was a source of joy and inspiration to her family and friends.

Josephine's memory will be cherished by her grandson, Zachery William Locklear (Lauren), and great-grandchildren, Grayson William and Kylie Grace Locklear, whose lives she enriched with her wisdom and love.

A funeral service will be held at Currytown Baptist Church on Monday, February 19, 2024, at 1:00 pm with Pastor Michael McDaniel officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, and a burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, North Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Josephine's name to Hospice of Forsyth County.
