Joyce Davis Bennett

Joyce Davis Bennett, age 73 of Giles Road, Lexington passed away Saturday night at Brookstone Nursing Home.  Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday (8-25-2009) at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Howard G. Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Sandy Creek Cemetery.   Joyce was born in Davidson County, July 9, 1936 to Henry Allen Davis and Lucille Michael Davis.  She was a retired employee of Davidson County Schools, having worked in the cafeteria and as a bus driver.  She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.  A former member of the Square N-Aders Western Square Dance Club.  She was preceded in death by her parents.   Surviving are: husband, Randy Bennettt of the home; two daughters, Jan Montgomery and husband Kenny of High Point and Sandra Lane and husband Mark of Glen Allen, VA; four grandchildren, Kelly Lane, Laura Lane, Ashley Montgomery and Kristin Montgomery; two brothers, J.D. Davis and wife Kathryn of Lexington and Carlton Davis of Rock Hill, SC.   The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Monday night at Davidson Funeral Home.   Memorials should be directed to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Building Fund, 4299 S.
