Joyce Burkhart Swing

Joyce Burkhart Swing, age 81 of Becks Church Road, Lexington passed away Friday evening December 15, 2017 at Hinkle Hospice House.   A funeral service will be held 3:00 Pm Monday December 18, 2017 at Becks Reformed Church with Rev. Dr. Stephen Disher and Rev. Steve Regan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Praise Center from 1:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the service.   Joyce was born in Davidson County November 21, 1936 to Carl C. Burkhart and Jenny Beck Burkhart. She was a retired employee of PPG and a member of Becks Reformed Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Beatrice Young, Dorothy Nichols, Ruby Tussey and Juanita White; brother, Billy Joe Burkhart, and Olin Burkhart.   Surviving are her loving husband, Don Swing; daughter, Patricia Hedrick Jenkins (John) of Lexington; son, Herbert Hedrick (Karen) of Lexington; grandchildren, Jeni Hedrick Stilwell husband Seth, Herbert Hedrick, III “Trey” wife Callie and Jordan Chase Hedrick wife Brooke; great-grandchildren, Ella Stilwell, Hannah Hedrick, and Deacon Hedrick; sister, Ernestine Surratt of Walkertown.   Memorials may be made to Becks Reformed Church, 2845 Becks Church Road, Lexington, NC  27292.
