Joyce Kay Brackett Grant, 75, a resident of Lexington, passed away April 28, 2021 at her home. Mrs. Grant was born in Cherokee County on January 6, 1946 to the late John Vinson Brackett and Lilla Mae Barber Brackett. She had a space at the Webb Road Flea Market for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Philip Grant; and a brother, Larry Brackett.
Mrs. Grant is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ray Grant, of the home; daughter, Debora Snider of Lexington; four grandchildren, Philip Grant, II, Erik Jackson (Emily), Amanda Lilly (Chandis), and Zoie Grant; and four great-grandchildren, Karma, Randy, and Eva Grant, Berklee Lilly, and Baby Jackson on the way.
Joyce had a love for traveling and photography. She embraced savoring the moments with stories, photographs and laugher. She always enjoyed family time, spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and the village. Ray and Joyce had created a home that was welcoming to all. Anyone who knew Joyce would describe her as kind, loving and genuine.
A service will be held Monday, May 3, 2021 in Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum at 11AM with Chaplain Ben Vogler officiating. There will not be a public visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests garden plants are sent for an outdoor memorial garden.
