Joyce Inabinett

Joyce Mustian Inabinett, 87, formerly of Weaver Drive, died at Hinkle Hospice House on October 15, 2025 after a period of declining health. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at First United Methodist Church in Lexington, NC, where she was a long-time member. A private inurnment will be held at Lexington City Cemetery. The family will see friends in the fellowship hall following the service.

Joyce was born January 10, 1938, to Clyde and Lucy Mustian in Louisburg, North Carolina. She grew up in Franklin County, NC, graduated from W.R. Mills High School, Louisburg College, and East Carolina University. After teaching English in Virginia and North Carolina public schools, she moved to Lexington in 1968 with her husband, Bill, who was hired to serve as Dean of Instruction at Davidson-Davie Community College, which was still in its infancy. Joyce taught at Ledford High School before becoming a Mom to son, David. Joyce was a wonderful mother and wife, an avid artist and poet, and demonstrated friendship and love for her community and others by serving First United Methodist Church as a Trustee, Administrative Board member, and Altar Guild member. Joyce was also active in the Charity League of Lexington and the Euterpe Music Club. She enjoyed being a member of the Piedmont Crossing community in Thomasville since 2023, and was appreciative of the friendship and care provided there.

Joyce was a devoted and generous wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed her role in each. She was married to William “Bill” Inabinett for over 50 years before his death in 2015.

In addition to her husband, Bill, Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Clyde Jr., Forest, Walter, Dennis, and Garland, and her sisters, Mary, Lillian and Ruth. She is survived by her son David Inabinett and wife, Elizabeth, of Lexington; and grandchildren Blake, Kate, and Ward.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Davidson Medical Ministries Clinic, Hospice of Davidson County, or to First United Methodist Church.
