Joyce Knighton "Mom" Lohr

Joyce Knighton “Mom” Lohr, 82, of SP Lohr Drive, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at her home.  The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Psalm 91 Church with the Revs. Max Shoaf, Billy Pearson and Kenneth Marshburn officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m.  Mrs. Lohr was born February 15, 1935, in McDowell County, to Charles Knighton and Beulah Burnette Knighton. She was owner/operator of Speedy Lohr's Barbecue. Sharing her love for the Lord, Mrs. Lohr attended Psalm 91 Church, Landmark United Pentecostal Church and Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sherman Paul “Speedy” Lohr, who died February 24, 2010; and a son, Paul Douglas Lohr.  Surviving are sons, Randy Lohr (Amy), and Roger Lohr (Lisa), all of Lexington; grandchildren, Kristy Bowers (Gary), Paul Lohr, Caroline Lohr, and Luke Lohr; great-grandson, Christopher Lohr and half-sister, Barbara Rector of Morganton.
