Joyce Ann Tester

Joyce Ann Hoover Tester, 78, of Davidson County, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Friday, November 1st, 2024, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.

Joyce was born on November 11, 1945, in Davidson County, to the late Olin Dewey Hoover and Ruby Hughes Hoover.

She enjoyed reading, spending time outdoors, keeping bees, and loved gardening in her flower beds. Everyone who had the joy of knowing her remembers her absolute love for animals. Joyce had a special connection with every fur baby who came into her life, and she went above and beyond loving and caring for them.

Joyce also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially in recent months, and having Sunday evening dinners with them.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Alexander; second husband, Charles A. Tester; son, Jerry Lee Alexander; brother, Doyle Hoover; and niece, Anna Hoover.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Brent Alexander (Julie), of Lexington; brothers, Garry Hoover, Harold Hoover (Desaree), and Roger Hoover; granddaughter, Hannah Alexander Leonard (Adam); great grandchildren, Gavin Alexander Leonard and Maren Ellise Leonard; nieces, Angela Hoover Murphy and Avis Hoover Rowbury; stepchildren, Charlie and Brenda; and a host of beloved animals.
