Joyce Ann Wood

Joyce Ann Wood, age 69, of Lexington entered the gates of heaven on Sunday October 13, 2024.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00am until 11:00am prior to the service on Friday.

Joyce was born in Patrick County, Virginia to the late, Eva and Dewey Abbott. She was a loving wife, mother, Nana and Nanny. She was the best Nana and Nanny. She had a heart of gold and the biggest smile. She loved dancing and being at the beach but most of all, she loved her church and her family (the monkeys).

Joyce was proceeded in death by her sister, Florence Robertson.

She is survived by her husband of almost 54 years, Doug Wood, and their 2 children, Debra Cockerham and her husband John and Douglas “Bo” Wood; 3 grandchildren, Tiffany Everhart and husband, Christopher, Michael Kerik and Johnathan Cockerham and 4 great grandchildren, Aubri and Cayden Everhart and Alyson and Caroline Kerik. Also surviving is her sister, Mabeline Marshall and her husband Doug and her brother Stanley Abbott and his wife Dora.
