Juanita Bates Beck

Mary Juanita Beck, 84, of Alston Brook Nursing Center, formerly of N. County Home Road, died Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at the nursing center. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Reformed United Church of Christ, where she was a member, with the Revs. Elizabeth Horton and Mike Hooper officiating. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and other times at the home of her brother on Marion Circle. Mrs. Beck was born October 25, 1931, in Davidson County to Thomas Noble Bates and Elsie Odessa Burkhart Bates. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Junior Beck; brothers, Edgar Bates and Bobby Bates; and sister, Pam Kennedy. Surviving are brother, John “JW” Bates and wife Betty of Lexington; sister, Marzell Crotts of Lexington; sisters-in-law, Peggy Bates and Brenda Bates, both of Lexington; and brother-in-law, Jack Kennedy of Winston-Salem.
