Juanita Inez Covington Harrison

Juanita Inez Covington Harrison, 65, of Austin Drive, died Monday, April 29, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Central Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Ryan Bennett officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Hill Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mrs. Harrison was born June 14, 1947, in Iredell County, to John Richard Covington Sr. and Joy Inez Pruitt Covington. She was a former employee of Lexington Furniture Industries. At her church she was an assistant Sunday school teacher for the preschool class, a member of the fundraiser committee and was involved in preparing the Poorman’s Supper. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Janet Fowler and Joan Roxie Hedrick; and brother-in-law, Earl Fowler. Surviving are her husband, Austin Harrison of the home; children, Thomas Harold Harrison and life partner Jack Wesley Knowles of Charlotte, Bridget Annette Harrison of Ormond Beach, Fl., Austin Wayne Harrison and wife Erika Bustos Harrison of Winston-Salem, and Kimberly Dawn Harrison; grandchildren, Nikki Craver and husband Daniel, Casey Queen, Jessica Queen, Mark Amberson, Mabry Harrison, Jennifer Jaramillo, and Samantha Harrison; great-grandchildren, Jonah Craver, Joy Inez Craver and Brady Lakey; brothers, John Henry Covington and wife Tina of Pittsboro, Jerry Covington of Knightindale, and John Richard Covington Jr. and wife Dawn of Lavale; sisters, Judy Gibbs and husband Lonnie of Tyro and June Dale Covington of Lexington; and her mother-in-law, Geraldine Harrison of Southmont. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407.
