Judy Elizabeth Buchanan

Judy Elizabeth Beanblossom Buchanan, 79, of Lexington, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Davidson Funeral Home with Pastor Sammy Allison officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Buchanan was born May 8, 1943, in New Hanover County, to James Estal Beanblossom and Elizabeth Justice Sapp Beanblossom. Along with being a member of Spruce Street Missionary Baptist Church, she was church secretary for many years and enjoyed participating and leading many of the ladies’ church activities. Mrs. Buchanan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother (Granny B) whose memory will be cherished forever. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over thirty years, Otis Lee Buchanan Sr.; and one brother, Jackie Beanblossom.

Surviving are three sons, Jimmy Whitaker (Penny) of Winston Salem, Scott Whitaker (Sharon) of Winston Salem, and Michael Whitaker of Lexington; nine grandchildren, Christian, Jennifer, Seth, Ashley, Amber, Devin, Austin, Leighann, and Chelsea; and eleven great-grandchildren.
