Judy Carol Leonard Michael

Mrs. Judy Carol Leonard Michael, 78, of Patricia Lane, died Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Thomasville Medical Center.

A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Shiloh Church, with Pastor Paul Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church.

She was born on October 9, 1947, in Stanly County, to the late Harold Quency and Lizzy Mae Hatley Leonard.

Mrs. Michael loved her church. She enjoyed traveling, especially going on cruises and visiting the beach. She and her husband traveled across the United States twice and also visited Nova Scotia. She loved playing computer games and Sudoku, or “Sodookie”, as she called it. Mrs. Michael was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Atlanta Braves play ball. She was also her granddaughters’ biggest fan when they played soccer. Most importantly, she loved her family.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Alice Rae Kepley, Pierce Leonard, Calvin Leonard, Jane Paige Kearns, Reba Michael, and Dorothy Gail Hayes.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Larry Michael, of the home; children, Sheila Michael Potter (Keith) and Charlie Michael (Lisa); two granddaughters, Kallie Potter and Kyleigh Miller; two siblings, Rodney Leonard and Shirley Garrison; and many nieces and nephews.
