Judy Byerly Charles

Judy Byerly Charles, age 73 of Shiptontown Road, Lexington passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Hinkle Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Second Reformed United Church of Christ with Rev. Jim Luck officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the church parlor from 12:30 until 1:45 PM.

Judy was born in Davidson County July 21, 1946 to Willie Cathell Byerly and Dorothy Everhart Byerly. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Stanley Furniture.  Judy loved her Lord and Savior and was a member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ.  She was an extraordinary cook and was known as Mamaw to everyone.  Judy was as beautiful a woman on the inside as she was on the outside and will be forever missed in our hearts.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Andrea Byerly and sister-in-law, Kay Byerly.

Surviving are her husband, George Charles of the home; daughter, Andrea Charles and Rick Tulbert of Lexington; son, James Charles and Franlyna of Lexington; grandchildren, Brittney Baker, Brianna Hedblad (Ryan), Lea Barringer, Amanda Perry (Justin) and Leslie Lanier; great-grandchildren, Skyler Poole, Phillip Perdue, Carson and Olivia Hedblad, Aubrie, Autumn and Hudson Perry and Harper Lanier; sister, Erlene Crotts (Raymond) of Lexington; brothers, Willie Dwayne Byerly and Bruce Byerly (Lynn) of Lexington; and best friend, Linda Holmes.

The family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to hospice for the wonderful love and care they showed to Judy and the family.
