Judy Carolyn Jones Errington, 62, of Myers Park Drive, died Thursday, June 11, 2009, at her home following a serious illness of three months. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Second Presbyterian Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Kurt Johnston. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. Mrs. Errington was born September 2, 1946, in Wake County, to Thomas Melvin Jones and Caroline Tesh Jones. She was senior secretary for City of Lexington electric department with 33 years of service. She served as President and Vice President of the Friends of the Theatre, served on the board and secretary of the Chair City Players, member of the American Society of Notaries, VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3074 member and past secretary of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 8. She was preceded in death by her father; sister, Ruthie Jones Severance; and a brother, Thomas Melvin Jones Jr. In addition to her mother from Lexington she is survived by her son, Richard W. Errington Jr. and wife, Stephanie, of Lexington; daughter, Angie Errington Franklin and husband, David, of Lexington; four grandchildren whom she cherished very much, Brooke Franklin, Chase Franklin, Braven Errington, and Zeb Errington; and sisters, Lynda Jones Leonard, Becky Jones Lanier, both of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2009, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter on Rhodes Road, Lexington.
