Judy Mae Ball Gregory, of Lexington, passed away on Monday, May 26th, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Lexington just one day before her 82nd birthday. Judy was a beloved resident of Lexington, North Carolina, where she was known for her warmth and dedication to her family and community.
Judy was born on Thursday, May 27th, 1943, in Rowan County to Winfred Eugene and Oleita Mae Hilton Ball. Judy grew up in the Lexington area and was a graduate of Pilot High School. She furthered her education at Ashemore Business College, earning an associate degree in business administration. She worked for over 40 years in her community. Judy gave 30 years of service to Coble Dairy in Lexington as an office administrator and secretary and was one of the last people to leave before Coble closed. She then worked with Lexcom in Lexington for an additional decade as a secretary.
Beyond her professional life, Judy was an active member of her community and had a deep-seated care for those around her. She was involved in the North Lexington Triangle Volunteer Fire Department; Lady's Auxiliary, Auxiliary Member of the Davidson County Public Safety Honor Guard and was a member of the Lexcom Telephone Pioneers. Her commitment to these organizations exemplified her dedication to service and to her husband, Roger, who was also a Telephone Pioneer and organized the Davidson County Public Safety Honor Guard.
Judy was predeceased by her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Roger Dale Gregory, whom she married on April 24, 1966, and her brother, Wilbur Ball. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her family members and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Gregory of Lexington and Melody Lynn Clark of Thomasville, NC; her two wonderful grandsons, Camden Clark and Mckinley "Mac" Clark, both of Thomasville; two nephews, Rodney and Jason Ball and cherished family friends, Chris Clark and Melissa Shrewsbury.
Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Judy's life on May 30, 2025 at a visitation which will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM, with the service following at 11:00 AM. Both events will take place at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. Following the service, Judy will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Memorial Park in Lexington.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Davidson County Humane Society, or Davidson County Meals on Wheels.
In honoring Judy's memory, remember her spirit of dedication, love for her family, and her unwavering support for her community. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
