Judy Ann Lomax Miller, 68, of Guy Pressley Road in Lexington, passed away Wednesday morning, June 24, 2009, at Hinkle Hospice House of Davidson County.
A memorial service for Judy will take place at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at Pilgrim Reformed Church, 797 Pilgrim Church Road, in Lexington, with the Revs. Barry Surratt and Gerald Sanders officiating.
Born December 6, 1940 in Spencer, NC, Judy was the daughter of the late Wilbur Lee Lomax, Sr. and Helen Wilkerson Lomax. She was united in marriage to John W. Miller for 52 years.
Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her happiest times were spent with her family. Prior to her retirement, she worked at Lexington Furniture Company. She also enjoyed cooking and working in her garden.
Judy is survived by her husband John W. Miller of Lexington, her children, Sheila Hall & husband Edmund of Mechanicsville, VA, Donna Williams and husband Philip of Waxhaw NC, and Gina Idol and husband Craig of Lexington, grandchildren, Sarah Strickland of Tappahannock, VA, Marybeth Strickland of Midlothian VA, Karmen and Kendall Idol of Lexington, and one great-grandchild, Stella Gaskins of Tappahannock. Two brothers Charles Lomax of Lexington and Darrell Lomax of Wilmington, NC, sister-in-law Patsy James and husband Ron of Graham, NC and many other friends and relatives.
The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Friday in the Church Parlor, preceding the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
