Judy Raye Hunt Johnson, 61, of Johnson Farm Road, died Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Forsyth Medical Center following a three week illness.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Macedonia United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Burt Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
Mrs. Johnson was born June 17, 1949, in Davidson County, to Rayford Hunt and Barbara Jean McGehee Hunt. She was a graduate of Ashemore Business College and owner/operator of Johnson’s Day Care.
Surviving are her husband, former sheriff of Davidson County, Jimmy Earl “Jim” Johnson of the home; daughters, Sara Turner and husband, Chris, and Sandra Beck and husband, Chris, all of Lexington; three grandchildren, Jessica Raye Turner, Drew Turner, and Jacob Turner, all of Lexington; brother, Jimmy Hunt of Lexington; sister, Ann Leonard and husband, Hobart, of Lexington; and her special canine companion, Waffles.
