Julia Callahan Burkhart, 80, of Giles Road, died Friday, July 11, 2014, at Brian Center of Lexington.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel by Dr. Gary Gibson. Entombment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Julia was born in Davidson County on May 14, 1934, to Jesse Martin Callahan and Ila Williams Callahan. She was a retired employee of Henry Link Furniture and later was a substitute teacher at Tyro Middle School. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Billy Joe Burkhart in 1998; sisters Bertha Yarborough and Faye Gibson; and brothers Troy, Hobart, Jesse Jr. and Billy Jack Callahan.
Surviving are her sons, Mike Joe Burkhart (Melanie), Doug Burkhart (Donna), Kim Burkhart (Tammy) and Nicky Burkhart, all of Lexington; grandchildren Travis Burkhart, Amy James, and Zach and Jenna Burkhart; great-granddaughter Lillian James of Lexington; sister Nina Tesh of Lexington; and brother Phil Callahan of Lexington.
