June Frontas Lanier, 83, of the Midway community passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2020, at Oak Forest United Methodist Church at 3 P.M., conducted by Rev. Dwight Cartner with music being provided by Tammy Taylor.
Mr. Lanier was born March 30, 1937 in Davidson County to Annie Janice Bailey and Ray Holt Lanier Sr. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a superb masonry and building contractor until his health declined. He was a member of Oak Forest United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronald Dale Lanier; sister, Kathy Lanier; brothers, Ray Holt Jr., Carlyle, and Horace. He was also preceded in death by his loving border collies, Ladd and Buddy.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of forty years, Nell Lanier of the home; son, Ricky Lanier (Gloria) of Welcome; daughters, Tami Lanier (Petey Jones) of Lexington, Cynthia Martin (Roger) of Lexington, Tina Everhart (Derrick Barcombe) of Lexington, and Debra Lanier of Nebraska; step daughter, Kimberly Noftle (Randy) of Lewisville; sisters, Betty Robbins (Jerry), Rita Motsinger (Mark), and Ronda Wilson; brothers, Don (Annie), Jerry (Pauline), Bobby (Tonya), Eddie (Barbara), Keith (Trish), and Tony; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Also surviving is his sweet terrier, Benji.
The family expresses deep appreciation for the kindness and care provided by Hospice of Davidson County and for the staff of the 5 th floor of Forsyth Medical Center.
