Roy Everette "June" Phillips Jr., 72, of Reedy Creek Baptist Church Road, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Reedy Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Egbert Craven. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church just prior to the service and other times at the home.
Mr. Phillips was born Oct. 26, 1939, in Davidson County to Roy "Buck" Everette Phillips Sr., and Lillie Swicegood Phillips. He was retired from Parkdale Mills and was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Sandy Phillips; and a sister, Peggy Leonard.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Annette Perrell Phillips, of the home; four sons, Tim Phillips of Lexington, Ky., Marty Phillips and wife Tina, Mickey Phillips and wife Tammy, Derek Phillips and wife Marcie, all of Lexington; five grandchildren, Nikki Brooks and husband Jeff, Mollie Phillips, Emma Phillips, Matthew Phillips, Eli Phillips; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Alexis Brooks; a brother, Buford Phillips and wife Carol of Lexington; three sisters, Faye Leonard and husband Jerry, Vivian Walser and Carolyn Mobley and husband Brian, all of Lexington.
