March 23, 1930 — September 8, 2018

June Kilby Smith, age 88 of Pickett Road, Lexington (Welcome Community) passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville.

A private graveside service will be held at Center United Methodist Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 10, 2018 at Center United Methodist Church with Rev. Mitch Wilson officiating and visitation will follow the service.

June was born in Lancaster County, PA on March 23, 1930 to Carl Norman Kilby and Ruth Louthian Kilby. She was a retired Administrative Secretary for the City of Salsibury and was a member of Center United Methodist Church. She loved her church, and her family but her passion was gardening and her great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Edward Smith; a brother, Lake Kilby and a sister, Nila Wassum.

Surviving are her daughters, Pam Sink (Ron) of Lexington, Debbie Linkous (Alan) of Bristol, TN; son, Edward Maiden Snider (Contonia) of Statesville, NC; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Center United Methodist Church,  PO Box 179, Welcome, NC 27374 or to Piedmont Crossing, 100 Hedrick Drive, Thomasville, NC 27360.
